Why PennCash
PennCash is a convenient way to make cash-free purchases with your PennCard.
PennCash is a pre-paid debit feature available on your PennCard which reduces the need to carry cash on campus. Just swipe and go! You can use PennCash to pay for textbooks, food and dining services, and other items at participating on-campus locations. You can make a deposit online at penncash.com.
For Individuals:
Anyone with an active PennCard has access to a PennCash account. Just swipe and go! You can use PennCash to pay for textbooks, meals, and more at on-campus locations. Your PennCash balance is limited to a maximum of $1,000.00. To activate your account, visit the penncash.com website and make a deposit.
For Parents:
PennCash is a pre-paid debit feature available on your student's PennCard which reduces the need to carry cash, debit cards, and credit cards on campus. PennCash can be used exclusively at select on-campus locations to pay for textbooks, dining services, copying and printing, and more. A student's PennCash balance is limited to a maximum of $1,000.00. Students can choose to activate additional guest access on their account at penncash.com, allowing parents to make deposits to PennCash directly. There are no fees to use PennCash or to have a PennCash account. Any remaining PennCash balance can be refunded when your student departs the University.
For Departments:
Departmental PennCash can be used for copying. Penn faculty and researchers can also set up departmental copy cards for use in the libraries. To activate an account, users should bring a copy card requisition form (available online from the library), approved by a business administrator to one of the following locations:
