Why PennCash
PennCash is a convenient way to make cash-free purchases with your PennCard.
PennCash is a pre-paid debit feature available on your PennCard that reduces the need to carry cash on campus. Just tap and go! You can use PennCash to pay for textbooks, food and dining services, and other items at participating on-campus locations. You can make a deposit at Campus Express.
For Individuals:
Anyone with an active PennCard has access to a PennCash account. Just tap and go! You can use PennCash to pay for textbooks, meals, and more at on-campus locations. Your PennCash balance is limited to a maximum of $1,000.00. To activate your account, visit the Campus Express website and make a deposit.
For Parents:
PennCash is a pre-paid debit feature available on your student's PennCard which reduces the need to carry cash, debit cards, and credit cards on campus. PennCash can be used exclusively at select on-campus locations to pay for textbooks, dining services, copying and printing, and more. A student's PennCash balance is limited to a maximum of $1,000.00. There are no fees to use PennCash or to have a PennCash account. Any remaining PennCash balance can be refunded when your student departs the University.
For Departments:
Departmental PennCash can be used for copying. Penn faculty and researchers can also set up departmental copy cards for use in the libraries. To activate an account, users should bring a copy card requisition form (available online from the library), approved by a business administrator, to one of the following locations:
