PennKey

First-Time PennKey Setup

The PennCard Center can provide assistance with initial PennKey setup codes for temporary staff and persistent guests. A PennCard, or other proof of identity and affiliation, is required to receive a Pennkey setup code.

Note that this service is only available to clients who present themselves in person at the PennCard Center office during regular business hours.

Persons who are not able to visit the PennCard Center may contact the PennKey support team to receive a PennKey setup code at their home address on file with the University.

PennKey Reset

The new PennKey Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) application is now available. SSPR is a modern, secure, easy-to-use app for resetting your own PennKey password if forgotten – using only your pre-registered personal (non-Penn) email address and cell phone number.

  • Before using the app, you must have previously enrolled in SSPR and registered your preferred personal contact information.

To Enroll in SSPR: https://accounts.pennkey.upenn.edu/pwm/private/updateprofile

  • Once enrolled, you can use SSPR to send a code to your registered personal email to quickly reset a forgotten password at any time. After completing the reset, a notification message will be sent to both your registered personal email and cell phone (both are required to use SSPR)

Persons who have not yet registered for Self Service Password Reset may also visit the PennCard Center to receive assistance with a PennKey reset. A PennCard, or other proof of identity and affiliation, is required to reset a password. Note that this service is only available to clients who present themselves in person at the PennCard office during regular business hours.

Persons who are not able to visit the PennCard Center may contact the PennKey support team to receive a PennKey reset code at their home address on file with the University.
